Nor does a player ever have to play heads up against another player in a multi table tournament unless he is one of the two remaining players in the tournament. But these skills only come into play for those players who make the final table in the current multi table tournament structure. In fact, current multi-table tournament structure favors the player who is able to play well enough to survive and outlast the field. Outlasting the field doesnt necessarily involve playing optimum poker.
Under the shootout format, the ability to read the player becomes more important. Once the tournament starts you know your other 9 opponents. The ability to recognize tells and betting patterns becomes more important. The ability to attack another players weakness becomes easier as the table is slowly whittled down in size. Under current multi-table tournament play, a player may acquire a substantial number of chips due to the quality of players he faced rather than his playing skill. If a player is lucky enough to play against new, weak or maniac players who are willing to throw a lot of chips into a pot, he may build a large stack of chips. However, a better player may have played just as well but faced stronger or more conservative players. His chip stack going into the home stretch may be substantially less even though he has won just as many hands and against better players.
With the shootout format, each player advances with substantially the same number of chips to the next level. Play at the next level starts on a level basis. Consistency and strong play become more important. Moreover, each table at each advancing level fills with strong players since only winners advance. The table is not being filled with players who are managing to just survive.
In summary, I would like to see more shootout tournaments added to the WPT and WSOP tournament schedules, as well as, online poker tournaments because it showcases more poker skills such as heads up play, short handed play, reading skills and consistency. cannot review the machine yet.
I think, even though I clicked on
purchasing a *new* machine, I think I

because there were spots on the lip of
the machine under the cover.
Too, I have a feeling the machine
has been **discontinued**
and none of the outlets are telling us
because I went online to Cuisinart and
it isn't even offered.
My review of the bread machine will come
at the end of the week after I use it for
the first time.
But, my machine did not come with
a manual. Nowhere on Amazon is there a
phone number to call a human being about
the problem.
The Cuisinart warehouse is 3 miles from us.
We called ALL their phone numbers and none
of them worked!
Finally, I had gone online and googled
where I could download a manual for the
bread machine. which I have a feeling
has been *discontinued*
and none of the outlets are telling us.
Because I went online to Cuisinart and
it isn't even offered.
I was low on printer ink and paper.
But, I thought that I would have enough
to print up a little manual.
Well, that little manual turned into
115 pages!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and I ran out of ink and paper.
After my husband ran up to Staples' to
buy more paper and ink and after printing
up the manual, my husband found an 800
phone # quite a few pages in.
It was not an enjoyable experience at all.
It was supposed to be an early 44th anniv. gift
from my husband...a joyful gift which turned into
a horror show.
I have only ever written 3 bad reviews in my
life. This is the 3rd. I have always written
raves.
I just hope this bread machine turns out
to be better than our experience.

It boggles my mind the way many people still rely on superstitions and “gut-feelings” to encourage good luck at the tables. Don’t get me wrong, if you feel more comfortable playing with a good-luck charm, then there’s nothing wrong with having it close by. But the moment you purposely put yourself in a negative situation due to some belief or reliance on “outside forces” is the moment your poker game loses its soul.
The fact is that nothing can stop the long-term statistical behavior of numbers. Chanted rituals, lucky charms, hocus-pocus manipulation… even divine intervention are no match for reality. However, many superstitious players focus on short-term events as if they were instrumental in determining one’s long-term success at the tables. Not ironically, these are some of the same clowns who put things like “Professional Bingo/Lottery Player” on their credit application when requesting a high-interest loan.
There are quite a few options a person has at his/her disposal to become a winning poker player. You don’t necessarily have to be a mathematical genius, methodical bean counter, or hyper-aggressive bully to find long-term success at The Game. Poker has nothing to do with luck. As my co-host Adam Small is so fond of saying, you can get lucky or unlucky, but luck is not something a poker player can possess. Once you’ve seen over ½ million hands (like most of us who multi-table online have), you gain a unique perspective on just how unimportant short-term results are.
It may sound as if I dislike playing against these types of players, but I pity them more than anything else. The truth is they represent some of the easiest money in the game, simply because they’re willing to put money in the pot in such a manner that (ironically) encourages short-term failure at a higher rate than all others. These guys/gals wander into poker rooms after getting hammered at the slots, bingo halls, or racetracks because their ego needs a different vice. But the rewards one receives from poker directly correspond to how much respect, hard work, and dedication one puts into it – not how much luck a person can or can’t receive in a session or a lifetime.
Personally, I’m not very fond of giving “answers” when it comes to poker (or anything else) because I feel they’re usually overrated or incorrect. But if you’ve come this far without grasping the concept of this article, I’ll part with this truth: Poker is not a game for those who are lazy, unmotivated, or easily discouraged. Carefully consider any advice you get from those who seem to have all the answers… it’s possible they’ve taken the easy path to becoming a losing player.
So the next time you’re about to call off all your chips as an obvious huge underdog just because your pocket cards represent your “lucky” number, take a moment to consider what your goal in poker really is. Is this the best you can do? Leave the incense, rain dances, and week-old undergarments to the attention-starved weirdos who specialize in losing. Keep the common-sense approach to winning at poker for yourself.
